Role Description:

CleanEvent are seeking an experienced Assistant Venue Presentation Manager (AVPM) to support the day-to-day operations of our cleaning team and meet the needs of our client.

Reporting directly to the Venue Presentation Manager (VPM), this role will assist in ensuring high standards of presentation and cleanliness throughout the venue.

The role involves managing all aspects of the contract in the absence of the VPM.

A requirement to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as necessary, together with some overnight work.

The venue is one of the leading conference and events facility in the region, hosting a wide range of events including award ceremonies, exhibitions and live events in addition to 16 exhilarating race days throughout the year.

The multi-use venue welcomes thousands of visitors each year, making cleanliness, hygiene, and first-class presentation essential to the visitor experience.

 

Position Summary:

We are seeking a flexible and adaptable Assistant Venue Presentation Manager (AVPM) with an eye for detail to support the day-to-day cleaning operations across the venue and play a key role during high-traffic events, including race days.

The Assistant Venue Presentation Manager (AVPM) will oversee all aspects relating to conferences and events from initial planning meetings with the client each week right through to client billing at the end of each month.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Lead, direct, motivate and support all colleagues to deliver their duties efficiently, courteously, and to the standards expected by clients and customers.

  •  Provide hands on leadership of the team, including supervision, task delegation and ensuring all work is completed to agreed standards.

  • Assist in leading the cleaning team including supervision, task delegation, and ensuring all work is completed to a high standards. 

  • Oversee and support day-to-day operations and major events, including planning and delivering cleaning operations during key event days. 

  • Allocate daily work schedules and coordinate staffing levels and rotas to ensure effective utilisation of labour and equipment within budgetary constraints. 

  • Provide hands-on cleaning support during high-traffic times or in case of staff shortages.

  • Play a hands-on role in planning and delivering cleaning operations during 16 annual race days, ensuring rapid response and crowd-sensitive cleanliness throughout the day.

  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation, company policies, and procedures, actively promoting a strong safety culture at all times, including during high-pressure event periods. 

  • Conduct routine inspections, audits, and checks (pre- and post-event) to ensure cleaning standards are met and identify areas for continuous improvement.

  • Ensure all vehicles, machinery, and equipment are accounted for, properly maintained, and safe for use at all times.

  • Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, incidents, and operational performance using approved systems and formats.

  • Support the recruitment, induction, onboarding, and ongoing training of staff, including delivering toolbox talks and event briefings.

  • Respond to customer service issues and complaints promptly, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are taken to achieve customer satisfaction.

  • Participate in operational meetings with the venue team and support wider business objectives.

  • Carry out any additional duties as directed by the Venue Presentation Manager.

     

Key Skills:

*       Excellent client and customer service skills

*       Proven experience in management or supervisory role, with the ability to lead teams in a fast-paced operational environment. Experience within cleaning facilities 

management, or a similar sector is advantageous 

*       Proficient financial acumen to complete accurate forecasts and report on budgets

*       An appreciation and understanding in HR, ER, OH&S and EEO issues

*       Strong leadership skills

*       Well-developed communication skills and a proactive nature

*       Good IT skills
